Christianity with Humanism
From a Christian point of view, humanism refers
to an idea that only cares about human interests, not for the glory of God the
Creator, the purpose of human existence. In other words, it means that
Christianity is not God-centered, but human-centered. How can these things
happen?
Speaking of the truth about salvation in Christianity, human beings are
beings who have been disciplined by God and thrown into the world from the
Garden of Eden (the kingdom of God) because of their greed to become like God.
The spirit in man is a sinner trapped in the soil. It means that the
relationship with God is cut off and the spirit is dead. God wants to save the
spirit. In John 6:63, “It is the spirit that
quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing.” God wants the spirits trapped in the dust to
come back to life and return to the kingdom of God. However, God is telling the
spirits in humans that the greed to become like God (the fleshly body: the old
man) should die and return. Man cannot kill his own flesh.
So, God predestined Christ, and Jehovah God
Himself took the flesh and was born into this world and died on the cross as a
substitute for all human beings. It was to teach the spirits how to repent of
their sins of wanting to become like God and return to God. That is the death
of the cross. Those who are united to Jesus Christ who died on the cross and
believe that he is also dead means that God will acknowledge that the body of
sin is dead. that's baptism In Romans 6:4, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as
Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also
should walk in newness of life.” With Jesus The one
who died on the cross is the body of sin. In Romans 6:6-7, “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of
sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is
dead is freed from sin.
It is the word of the covenant that God will restore the kingdom of God
to those who believe in it. These are the core truths of Christianity that
obtain salvation through faith. However, this is where humanistic ideology
comes into play. Most church people understand salvation as solving the problem
of sin. They believe that salvation comes from God if sins are forgiven. So
humanists misunderstand two things about sin. First, sin is misunderstood as
breaking the commandments. They think that breaking God's command not to eat
from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is the starting point of sin.
However, the starting point of sin is that Satan's temptation to become like
God (greed) is the root of sin.
Since they consider that breaking God's commandments is the root of
sin, it can be accepted that they are not sinful if they keep the commandments.
No matter how thoroughly one tries to keep the commandments, it is impossible
to get rid of the greed of the heart. So, their greed is to die with Jesus
Christ, but if they keep the commandments, they think they are innocent. This
is what the Pharisees think. Because it is related to the second reason for
thinking wrong about sin.
Second, about the misconceptions that people in the church have about
sin,
The Bible says in Romans 6:7 that God forgives those who die with Jesus
Christ for all sins (original sin and the sins of the world). They think this
applies to past sins. So, for the sins that can be committed now and in the
future, they try not to sin in the light of the Bible, and they think that if they
do commit a sin, they must be forgiven again through the blood of Jesus Christ.
This is the scene where the gospel of the cross and the law of the Pharisees
are mixed.
Even if believers say, what is wrong with studying the Bible,
persevering, praying, and working hard not to commit sins against the sins that
may occur now and in the future? The Bible explains in Romans and Galatians
that man cannot escape from sin. Fighting not to sin is not your own efforts,
but you are fighting to death in union with Jesus Christ. Only death on the
cross is the only way to get rid of sin. Hebrews 12:4-5 says, “Ye have
not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. And ye have forgotten the
exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou
the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him”
Believers must remember that humans are not capable of fighting sin.
The only way to fight sin is to die with Jesus Christ. However, if they
consider that the forgiveness of all sins through Jesus Christ is a thing of
the past, they will tell them to burn their will for sin. That is why false
beliefs about sin lead to such a result. When God forgives sins, he forgives
not only the past, but also the present and future sins. In Romans 8:1-2, “There is
therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not
after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in
Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Christians stained with humanistic ideas do not accept the words of
Romans 8:1-2 as present and future. The gospel of the cross of Jesus Christ is
dismissed as a thing of the past, and the blood of the cross is considered as a
means to receive forgiveness of sins. That is why they are doing something
diligently by putting themselves out there to avoid sinning. As they try not to
sin, they think that breaking the commandments is a sin, and keeping the
commandments is not a sin. They have the idea that they will not sin and become
good people and return to the kingdom of God. Because they think of the Garden
of Eden as an event that took place on this earth. So, because man broke the
commandments, he was expelled from the Garden of Eden, and people think that
the Garden of Eden cannot be found anymore.
Christians steeped in humanism believe that trying not to sin is to be
a good person (a good person). They engage in various activities with a good
heart, and they believe that becoming good is the only way to return to God.
They believe that the sins of the past are forgiven through Jesus' work on the
cross, but they must fight the good fight for the future.
Striving to be good is no different from any other religion. Although
the love of the cross of Jesus Christ was in the past, the present and the
future come to think that all efforts for good are no different from the love
of the cross and the mercy of other religions. This is the thinking of
Christians who have fallen into humanism. That is why they sometimes think that
there is salvation in all religions. No matter how hard a man tries, he cannot
go to the good (holiness) of God. Only the union of dying on the cross with
Jesus Christ leads to the love of God and holiness. Today's Christians who have
fallen into humanism must realize the two wrongs of sin and enter into the
death of Jesus Christ on the cross.
